Lansinoh - HPA Lanolin

Nipple Cream Makes for an Awesome Cuticle Salve

This product has become a staple in my home because my cuticles/nails/hands quickly turn to crap (due to my job) if I don't use it.

Here's Proof!

This is what happens when I stop using the nipple cream. Pretty gnarly, right?

And this is what my hands look like when I use the nipple cream.

Pretty amazing, right?

It's 100% pure lanolin and marketed for breastfeeding mothers with chapped nipples because of it's healing, protective & waterproofing properties. Lanolin has a reputation for smelling like a barnyard since it's extracted from sheared sheep's wool, but I'm happy to say this stuff has ZERO barnyard smell. The consistency is very thick - thicker than petroleum jelly and it doesn't absorb very fast.

Because of the slow absorbency time, I've found the best time to apply this salve is when I'm watching tv or right before bed. I bought a few tubes on sale at Publix and CVS (Next to the baby formula) and I keep them stashed in my purse, next to the couch, on my nightstand, & on my desk so I remember to use it. I also like to keep it handy at work because it really helps protect my hands through the many hand washings. If you choose to apply it before bed, wear some cotton moisturizing gloves (available at most drugstores) so it can soak into your skin while you sleep instead of rubbing off. I like to think of this product more as a daily hand treatment rather than a simple moisturizer.
